PlantWise takes insulation thickness into account when routing. The AutoRouter will automatically add flange insulation to steam lines, heat-traced lines, or lines defined as insulated cold (“IC”). Initial insulation values are generated by a table look-up based on the pipeline’s commodity code; however, you can change these values in the Pipeline Editor.

Coating (such as tracing or paint) data is also generated from a data table look-up based on the pipeline’s commodity code. Again, these values can be overridden in the Pipeline Editor.

The Bentley Systems default insulation and coating data is found in the commodity-properties table (see "Commodity Codes"). You are encouraged to edit those values to meet their specific needs. Editing data tables is described in "Editing Data Tables".
